Obama's cult of personality now has a Children's Music department

This is, in a word, disturbing. As is the newest addition to this article--scroll down so you don't miss it.

Particularly if you're a parent.

(EDITED TO ADD: Here's the video in question.)

(Hat tip to Nikki Shepherd.)

Obama supporters are now enlisting children to sing the praises of their Dear Leader. (And I don't use the term lightly.) They have a lovely, innocuous statement on the home page of SingForChange.com--let's examine it together. Quoting thusly, and like so (in italics):

Sing for Change chronicles a recent Sunday afternoon, when 22 children, ages 5-12, gathered

All on their own, of course. In matching t-shirts. In front of an Obama backdrop. Even the synchronized hand motions were the children's idea. And they just happened to get together in the presence of (as is mentioned elsewhere on their site) "three High Definition cameras (Panasonic HVX250’s)" and an "RED camera set up on a SteadiCam." It's not exactly Andy Hardy putting on a show in a barn, is it?

to sing original songs

Let's pull over and park there for a few minutes.

"Original songs?" If you've ever worked around a children's choir of any sort, you know that "original songs" have to be rehearsed. A lot.

Here. Examine the lyrics. The first song was allegedly penned by a 9-year-old:

WE’RE GONNA CHANGE THE WORLD
Music and lyrics by Lily Campbell

We’re gonna spread happiness
We’re gonna spread freedom
Obama’s gonna change it
Obama’s gonna lead ‘em

We’re gonna change it
And rearrange it
We’re gonna change the world.

SING FOR CHANGE
Music and lyrics by Kathy Sawada

Now’s the moment, lift each voice to sing
Sing with all your heart!
For our children, for our families,
Nations all joined as one.
Sing for joy and sing abundant peace,
Courage, justice, hope!
Sing together, hold each precious hand,
Lifting each other up;
Sing for vision, sing for unity,
Lifting our hearts to Sing!

YES WE CAN
Music and lyrics by Kathy Sawada

Yes we can
Lift each other up
In peace, in love, in hope
Change! Change!

For the record, Kathy Sawada is the "choir director" in the aforementioned video, and (surprise!) an Obama supporter. But let's continue...

in the belief that their singing would lift up our communities for the coming election. Light, hope, courage and love shine through these non-voting children who believe that their very best contribution to the Obama campaign is to sing.

A 5-year-old wants to sing for the Obama campaign? Really? Now, a 12-year-old responding to Obama propaganda is one thing, but are we seriously supposed to believe that the youngest members of the Dear Leader Singers independently voiced a desire to sing so that Obama might get elected?

To be involved in a cult of personality is one of the least rational things I can imagine. I've seen people who do this with this entire Obama nonsense, and I've seen them up close, too, in other venues. Such misplaced worship is, indeed, disturbing.

"Nations all joined as one?"
What exactly does this mean? Forget the implications to Christians (one world government and all that) but what does that even mean?

This is just one of those things that drives me crazy about the ObamaFrenzy. Even if you strip away the more heated issues do people really not see that the entire campaign is built on nonsense words?

"Spread Freedom"? I'd like to know how.

"Spread Happiness" What is the definition of happiness that they will be spreading?

All I hear over and over and over is words like "change", "hope", and "peace".

I don't really see how this is a recipe for running the country.

Mike, this is downright chilling -- as in the brainwashing of a cult.

Jeff Zucker, one of the people responsible for this is the CEO of NBC.

I was going to post the video on my blog but I'll give you the link and you can post it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW9b0xr06qA

I suggest you put it on the blog page. People need to see this.

Best to you,

Mr. Bratton,

Were you able to watch any of the debate?

If so, how do you think Gov. Palin performed?

Any opinions on the 'debate commission' using a moderator that has a vested financial interest in one of the participants losing? Only in America, huh?

"Were you able to watch any of the debate?"

No, we were at a special choir rehearsal last night--and, surprisingly, I did not DVR the debate. However, I have seen significant portions of the debate on various news channels.

"If so, how do you think Gov. Palin performed?"

It appears, from the highlights, that Gov. Palin acquitted herself well. She was focused, concise, and at least vice-presidential. (Ahem.) Joe Biden, on the other hand, just kept on being Joe Biden--which isn't a good idea. He also showed a remarkable lack of creativity by following Obama's cue of running against Bush instead of Sen. McCain.

"Any opinions on the 'debate commission' using a moderator that has a vested financial interest in one of the participants losing?"

To be fair, that one's on Ifill, though the commission should've been able to independently find out she was authoring pro-Obama pablum.

"Only in America, huh?"

Agreed. Don King must be pleased.

I seems the video is no longer available, so I did not get to see it.

But from the description, seems likes shades of Nazi Germany with the indoctrinization of the children and worship to the fuhrer.

Just sayin'.

I watched the debate Thursday night and in style, Palin opened up a can of 100% grade A whoop butt on Biden. Substance though, Palin left much to be desired. It seems like when they were talking about one subject, she was quick to try to change it to something else instead of answering the question at hand. After watching that debate, I decided I will not vote for neither candidate.

Blog friends,

If you'll allow me to interject a serious prayer request into the midst of this discussion ...

Friends of ours adopted two little boys, brothers, from Ethiopia about 5 weeks ago. They have been rejoicing at how well the various parts of the transition have gone and how God is putting their family together by His grace.

Yesterday the youngest of these two little boys, Samuel, was severely injured in a tractor accident and had to be airlifted from their home in rural Wisconsin to the children's hospital in Milwaukee, where he remains in critical condition. He has already undergone two surgeries, and Lord willing, if he does well with his postop recovery from those, he will have two other procedures on Monday and Tuesday. His mother is blogging about his condition and the incident at caringbridge.org/samuelphillipson for anyone who cares to read the details and leave a note for the family.

Please, in your prayers, remember this precious family. Pray that God will hold them and comfort them, and pray especially for two of their other children who apparently witnessed the accident, Mary and Paul. Thanks in advance.

MJM,

I hope that the little one is doing better and on the road to recovery.

Mr. Bratton,

While discussing the political situation with co-workers, each had varying opinions on why an Obama presidency seems imminent. They ranged from an uninformed electorate to general economic despair.

Notwithstanding the fact that McCain is not a true conservative and rather uninspiring, any opinions on why we are on the verge of electing an unqualified radical to occupy 1600 PA?

Update on Samuel Phillipson (and thank you so much for your prayers). This was posted by his mom tonight:

"He's breathing just fine still with that oral stent in place and sleeping. His pain meds are currently removed and he's on a PCA pump - and hasn't been given anything except right after he arrived. He's resting and comfortable. His blood pressure is steady to up and they have administered some Lasix as he is a mite puffy and retaining fluid - his eyelids especially show it."

Yes, friends and family, the Great Physician is certainly at work in the life of this little boy and his family. Please continue to lift them up as the Lord brings them to mind. This link is to the mom's personal journal about Sam and his progress and she updates it several times a day:

Again, thanks and much love,

Mrs. W., thanks for passing along that prayer request. I know that folks who stop by here to read and post have been very much in prayer.

And Ace, my answer to the reason why an unqualified radical like Barack Obama can get himself elected is in the title of my most recent article. Distilled to its essence, the 2008 election has become oriented around a cult of personality--nothing more, and nothing less.

The economy could be coming up roses, terrorism could be non-existent, and our military could be deployed in nothing more than routine assignments, yet Obama would still be making strides towards the Presidency.

The best recent example of this COP phenomenon has been expressed by Camille Paglia. In answering e-mails, she categorized the office of the President as an "administrative" one when saying Sen. McCain was unfit to administrate it.

However, in the same article she said the Presidency was a place where one person can inspire many, which was why Obama was the perfect person for that job. In her words, not since John Kennedy has she seen someone who was, quoting her thusly and like so, "appealing to our better nature rather than armoring us in eternal fear and paranoia against our fellow human beings."

That, of course, is a September 10th mentality. Some of your "fellow human beings" want to kill you, Camille--just for having the gall not to follow Islam.

And as the saying goes, you're not really paranoid if they really are out to get you.

Hmm. This may need to be fleshed out in its own article. Thanks for the question.

Well, aren't this chants more pleasant than "traitor" and "kill him" at McCain rallies?

No, actually, they aren't.

Scattered remarks from the occasional angry individual or two are far less a concern than the organized efforts of cult-of-personality types who use children to do their dirty work.

And by the way, the "traitor" part appears to be accurate.

The story's been out awhile, and has broken large today, that Obama has actually attempted to undermine U.S. foreign policy in Iraq.

Any other observations?

Mass hysteria can be a powerful thing. It hanged 51 men and women wrongfully charged with practicing witchcraft in Salem in 1692. It killed thousands (maybe as many as tens of thousands) of innocent African American men, women, and children in rampant lynchings and burnings throughout the United States in the years between 1890 and 1920. It caused deaths, injuries, and the furthering of racial tensions in the 1970s when Memphis was finally forced to submit to federal laws on desegregation of public schools via implementation of busing. Had it been left to the children to simply integrate, assimilate change, and forge new relationships and ways to get along, things would have probably gone much more smoothly. But because kids were used as pawns and manipulated by small-minded, hate-filled parents, the prejudices of previous generations were simply passed along to the younger. And so it goes.

We must engage in constructive and honest rhetoric in order to explore the realities of the present and discover solutions for an uncertain future. But why must we use kids as the mules for the burden of our message? Why can't we just let kids be kids?

Mike Bratton said...

Mrs. W., I would suggest that because God instructs those of us who are Christians thusly and like so,

Psalm 127

4. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed , but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

it is possible, nay probable, that the converse would be true as well.

If we are enjoined to train our children, to properly equip them and then launch them into the world, it stands to reason that we are instructed to do so because the ungodly will use their children as tools of negativity.

That's one place where "the enemies in the gate" come from, of course.

BTW My Friends,

Please keep a young man named Ryan in your prayers tonight. At the bowling alley tonight, he collapsed while bowling. They do not know for sure, but they think it might have been either a heart attack or a bad reaction to new medications. He's rather young, but has had heart problems in the past. He's only 24 years old.

Why all of the surprise about what Obama plans to do? The world had a book by a world conqueror and chose to ignor it until he almost won everything [ie... WWII] The left has been about the destruction of this country for many years now. They get defeated only to get up and try the same thing again. The rest of the country tries to compromise with them only to find out that they want more power than originally asked for.
This whole agenda of theirs should strike terror in everyone's heart that loves this country. And if so then expand the war on terror.
This, for now is still the USA. If we do not wake up soon it will become the USSA.
